Oranje 4 - 1 Le Bleu

My god. I must be witnessing history in the making. Two World Cup 2006 finalists demolished in the space of four days by the same team. France put up a stronger fight than the hapless Italy the other day, but boy, the goals just keeps getting better and better and better.

Netherlands 4 - 1 France

Scorers:

Dirk Kuyt 10'
Corner kick straight from the training ground, Kuyt loses his marker and heads in the corner from Van der Vaart.

Robin Van Persie 59'
Again, counter attacking play at the highest order. Ruud Van Nistelrooy turns two defenders, Robben picked up the loose ball and thrusts towards the French penalty area. Spotted Van Persie all alone in the middle of the box, and crosses in for Van Persie for the easiest of finishes, though Coupet got a hand to it, the ball went in nevertheless.

Thierry Henry 71'
Great cross in from the right by Sagnol, slightest of touches from Henry converts the ball into the net.

Arjen Robben 72'
At this point I was just starting to grumble about what happened to the Dutch defense, when all of a sudden, straight from kick-off, Robben bursts into the French penalty area after a few passes, taking on two defenders, and at the most impossible of angles, unleashes a shot towards Coupet's goal, went straight through. And it all happened in a flash.

Wesley Sneijder 90'

My pick of the lot. Great curler from Sneijder from the edge of the penalty area after neat passing from the Dutch. I'm teary-eyed by this point, the beauty of this goal is just astounding.
